news of this week....

French First Lady Carla Bruni has been portrayed as a sex-mad femme fatale on an episode of the Simpsons.
The former supermodel and husband President Nicolas Sarkozy are the cartoon stars of the episode called The Devil Wears Nada which celebrates 20 years of the hit U.S. show.
Bruni is lampooned as a chain-smoking man-eater who flirts with Homer Simpson's colleague Carl when the pair are invited to reception at the Elysee Palace in Paris

'You're getting cosy with Sarkozy': The Simpsons versions of Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy

Smoking: Cartoon Carla tells Homer's friend Carl she wants to 'make love, right now'

Dressed in a low-cut ball gown, Bruni corners Carl and announces: 'I want to make love, right now.'
Homer then warns Carl that Bruni is the president's wife, telling him: 'You know that woman you've been playing 'hide the baguette' with? That's the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni!'

To prove it, Homer phones Sarkozy's office.'Hello, you are getting cosy with Sarkozy,' he says jovially into the phone.

This leaves me to question how such institions can create a programe displaying mockery of the couple. Also should this type of content be in a cartoon programe watched by many younger viewers. What has media come to? entertainment? possibly, but it puts aside all other morality.

ANSWEAR THE QUESTION.

Will technology ever come to a standstill?

Impossible is nothing, as the adidas slogan says. With the development of science, technology will grow alongside. Future life could demand certain technology to improve way of life for the publics need, this will mean invention will never stop when there is always something better that can be achieved.

If we look at the evolvement of television screens we know that they were once as small as a reading book and people loved it but now we want big full HD screens because we care about the quality we watch, also the modern, less space taking aspect of it. Most recently were seeing an interactive tv that is a combination of tv and pc, it's all for a easier way of life. With every new gadget you may have the first generation and the second generation..with the first generation being the original and the second generation being the better updated one. The ipod touch is an example as the second generation has speakers, it is a slight difference but that difference could have been the reason behind the other peoples decision to not buy the first generation ipod. We could argue it is the institutions marketing technique to create competiton between people to have the best ipod therefore the newest one will be represented as that, creating desire to want it. However it could just be that that technology was not available then, which links to our question.

OWNERSHIP OF INSTITUTIONS + PLATFORMS

in my media lesson on wednesday, i learnt a lot...about the roots of each platform, how a merger has saved top companies such as Virgin Media. The whole principle of public service (hey we are important after all!) not giving permission for channels to run what they want, just for an increase in views and profit.
>What significance or impact does this have on ur AS?
Understanding Instistutions will help with writing a answear to an instituion based question regarding AT PROM --->Audience Technology Public service Regulation Ownership Marketing in my exam, until i have written about all concepts my answear is not finished!

This will help in my AS as to show understanding of how certain media text has been constructed because of its institution, or how they had to make it that certain way relating to public service remit.

I think the lesson was PERFECT, there was a lot of information that we were able to soak in successfully because of discussions.

News of last week...

Everyone has an opinion about katie Price and peter Andre breaking up.
Some feel:
DEVASTED because they really thaught their love was genuine and would last
HAPPY because Peter deserve someone who doesnt get her tits out in clubs!

i liked them, thought they love each other, but peter Andre has said to be 'pleased' about the result. Currently a article in the NOW magazine published a story on him portayed as a bad father and at fault for accidents involving disabled son Harvey, plus a unloving husband while with jordan.
information from:the sun newspaper
Andre called the infidelity rumors "untrue and hurtful" and apparently they were. A judge ruled in his favor and he won a substantial reward in damages over it.
His attorney released the following statement:

"Mr. Andre was also said to have demanded sick sexual threesomes from his wife, which horrified her and which she did not enjoy, feeling used and like a sex doll."

"Mr. Andre was said to be lying in portraying himself as a loving father and husband. He would never do anything to hurt his children, whom he loves very much."

The magazine admitted it lie and they accepted the story was untrue. Andre had sued the mag for £300,000, but no word on how much he was actually awarded.
information from :thehollywoodgossip.com
False publication like this demonstrates the medias negative aspect of wanting to create an interest by all means for pure marketing profit. <>

Response to Petes media blog..

IS HE SAYING STUDENTS DONT HAVE A LIFE??..we students multitask (we have to) this was in the video...because we study things that are irrelevant to us and how we read 8 books in a year and write over 500 pages of email also in their case only 18% of the teachers kno their name, which must not feel very nice!!

>ii liked a comment one of the students held up on paper she said 'i did NOT create the problems but they are my problems' but we all know we have to get through those problems to better our future with education...................(sigh)
...here is a different video for A Vision Of Students today for the 21st century learner.

< This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to develop higher thinking skills.

The second video 'The Machine is us' illustrates that We Are The Web and that we teach the machine e.g everytime we forget a link between words, we teach it an idea. I must say ii love that Digital text exists..because its flexible, The you are able to jus type out your idea then joggle it about to create a fine sentence. Its important to realise 'The web is no longer just linking information...The web is linking people'..'people sharing, trading and collaborating..' >>Facebook, Youtube, Wikipedia..etc
